As some of you may already know, this year finds me battling my breast cancer once again. 3 months ago I found out that after 12 years of being cancer free, my breast cancer is back. This time in the form of stage IV breast cancer which has metastasized to my chest, lymphatic system and spine. Over the past two months I have had two major surgeries to remove extensive breast cancer from my chest wall, and I am currently undergoing 7 weeks of radiation on my chest wall and spine. Thankfully there have been great advances over the last 12 years which will hopefully allow me to manage my cancer long term via a very targeted form of chemotherapy which has very few side effects.
I am so blessed to have an amazing team of doctors and an extensive support network that are there for me every step of the way. In particular I am blessed to have the Young Survival Coalition (YSC) there for me to provide me, and my co-survivors, with information and support throughout this next phase of my breast cancer journey.
On April 13-15th, I will be riding my bike 200 miles with my sister, also a 12 year breast cancer survivor, and a number of my dear friends in the YSC Tour de Pink three day ride for breast cancer. I know I can do it with your help encouraging me and supporting me with a donation.
Your donation will go to support Young Survival Coalition and ensure that no young woman faces breast cancer alone. YSC is the premier organization providing supportive services and education resources for young women affected by breast cancer.
YSC Tour de Pink is much more than just a bike ride, it’s a chance to honor survivors, raise awareness and support important programs for young women affected by breast cancer. I hope I can count on you to help me reach my fundraising goal!
Thank you in advance for your support. I truly appreciate your generosity.
